The Vintage Chophouse

Our dinner at The Vintage Chophouse this past Thursday was amazing I thought.  One of my favourite restaurants in Calgary and again they did not disappoint.  I had the Beef Carpaccio to start (capers, manchego cheese) and Braised Short Rib with summer ragout (smoked root vegetables) and agria puree (pureed potatoes) to follow.  The portion size was huge.  Although there was some discussion that the menu did not fit into our $20 limit I still think it was worth the price paid and am not taking off points for this.  McWilliams 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon was one popular wine of the night. 5 Shazams from me!!!   For next time it was agreed to pick a restaurant less pricey.
